A seller keeps changing networks, browsers, and computers, but the Seller Center still returns to the verification screen.

Fastest fix: follow this order this week: credentials and two-step verification, browser session, device and network changes, team permissions, then account security restrictions. Do not assume the IP address is the cause.

Last updated August 14, 2026. Platform details were checked against current TikTok Shop Academy, TikTok Support, Shopify Help Center, and Google Chrome Help documentation.

This guide is for US sellers who repeatedly see new-device checks or unusual-login alerts, teams coordinating between domestic operators and overseas managers, and operators who get a blank page or failed authorization when connecting Shopify with TikTok Shop.

01

Start with the symptom, not the network

TikTok Shop US login issues in 2026 usually look similar from the outside. The causes are not interchangeable.

Separate the visible failure first:

  • The verification code never arrives.
  • The code arrives but is rejected.
  • Verification succeeds, then the page returns to login.
  • A new-device or unusual-login warning appears.
  • Seller Center loads as a blank page.
  • The account opens, but a specific function is unavailable.
  • A former employee or agency user still appears to have access.
  • The owner account shows unfamiliar devices, profile changes, or payment changes.

Our first rule is simple: change one variable at a time and record the result.

Do not rotate through several networks, browsers, private windows, and devices in one session. That creates a poor evidence trail. It also makes it difficult to tell whether the problem is credentials, session state, permissions, or an account-level restriction.

The platform has confirmed that sellers should use two-step verification, review unknown devices, and use User Management for team access. It has not published its internal risk thresholds or a rule proving that a particular IP address automatically causes a login block. (TikTok Shop security guidance)

02

Verification codes: a valid check versus a broken loop

Why does Seller Center keep asking for a verification code?

Start by identifying which verification failure is occurring.

No code arrives

Check whether the phone number or email address is still controlled by the shop owner. Confirm that the message is not being filtered. If the owner no longer controls the method, stop repeated attempts and move to account recovery or official support.

The code arrives but fails

Check whether the latest code is being used. Avoid submitting an older message after requesting a new one. Also check whether the device time is correct when an authenticator method is involved. Incorrect device time can cause time-based codes to fail in other account systems, so it is a sensible local check before escalating.

The code is accepted, but login returns to the start

Treat this as a possible session or browser problem first. Do not immediately conclude that the network is blocked. Open a clean browser profile, remove only the relevant site data, and retry once from the same connection.

TikTok Shop requires sellers to link a phone number and enable two-step verification. Its published guidance also states that, after the first notification, failing to complete setup within 30 days can place withdrawals on hold; the same guidance says restrictions are typically lifted within 24 hours after setup is completed. These are current platform statements, not a promise about every individual account. (TikTok Shop two-step verification guidance)

Check the verification owner

Use this sequence:

  1. Confirm the login email shown in the account records.
  2. Confirm the phone number belongs to the current shop owner or authorized administrator.
  3. Confirm the active verification method.
  4. Ask the owner to complete one controlled login attempt.
  5. Save the exact message shown after the attempt.
  6. Stop if the account begins showing unfamiliar activity.

If an unauthorized-access concern exists, reset the Seller Center password and the associated email password. Remove unknown devices. Then contact Seller Support. TikTok Shop states that it may temporarily freeze an account and request ownership documents when unauthorized activity is suspected. Use the security guidance linked above rather than relying on community recovery claims.

Do not treat repeated code requests as a network test. They create more failed attempts without proving whether the real problem is a missing phone, an expired session, or an account restriction.

03

New device alerts: keep the evidence stable

TikTok Shop shows a new device or unusual login

A new country, new computer, or new browser profile can trigger an additional security check. That does not prove that the IP address has been blocked.

Record the following before removing anything:

  • Device name or browser profile.
  • Approximate location shown by the platform.
  • Date and time of the alert.
  • Person who attempted the login.
  • Whether the attempt was expected.
  • Any password, email, payment, or role changes noticed afterward.

If the device is unfamiliar, remove it from the account management area. TikTok Shop’s security guidance directs sellers to review and remove unrecognized devices through the account settings and User Management areas. (TikTok Shop device and account security instructions)

If the login was expected, keep the current device and connection stable for the next attempt. Do not switch between a home network, mobile hotspot, office network, and remote connection while testing. A stable test does not bypass verification. It only makes the result easier to interpret.

What if login fails after changing computers or networks?

Use a controlled recovery sequence:

  1. Return to the last device that successfully opened Seller Center.
  2. Use the same browser profile if it is still trusted and clean.
  3. Confirm the owner can complete two-step verification.
  4. Review unknown devices and recent account activity.
  5. Try the new computer only after the owner account is secure.
  6. If the old device also fails, treat the issue as account-level or credential-related rather than as a simple workstation problem.

Do not promise that a US IP, fixed node, or overseas Mac will prevent verification. The platform does not publish enough information to support that claim. A consistent environment can reduce device and session changes, but the seller still needs valid business information, working verification methods, and compliance with platform requirements.

04

Browser sessions: blank pages and lost authorization

TikTok Shop and Shopify show a blank connection page

A blank authorization page often points to browser state, blocked cookies, an extension, or an incomplete authorization session. It can also be caused by store eligibility or account permissions.

Shopify’s setup flow requires the store, business account, and TikTok Shop connection to meet regional and account requirements. The official setup path includes adding the sales channel, connecting the account, reviewing terms, verifying shop information, and uploading required documents. (Shopify’s official TikTok Shop setup guide)

Use this order:

  1. Open a new standard browser window.
  2. Disable nonessential extensions for the test.
  3. Confirm the browser is updated.
  4. Check whether cookies are blocked globally.
  5. Allow cookies only for the relevant authorization sites if needed.
  6. Clear the relevant site data.
  7. Sign in to one account only.
  8. Start the connection again from the official Shopify sales-channel area.
  9. Save the error text or screenshot if the page remains blank.

Google Chrome explains that blocking cookies can stop some websites from working correctly. It also supports site-specific cookie exceptions and deletion of individual site data instead of disabling all privacy protection. (Google Chrome cookie and site-data settings)

Do not use a private window as the permanent operating environment. It is useful for isolating extensions and stored sessions, but it may block third-party cookies by default. That can make an embedded authorization flow fail even when the underlying accounts are valid.

When the login state does not stay active

If Seller Center opens but immediately forgets the session, inspect:

  • Cookie policy.
  • Extension behavior.
  • Browser profile corruption.
  • Multiple accounts open in the same profile.
  • Clock and date settings.
  • Redirects blocked by privacy software.
  • Network changes during authorization.

Clear only the relevant site data first. Clearing all browser data signs users out of other services and removes saved preferences. Google’s Chrome documentation provides separate procedures for deleting all data, deleting specific site data, and allowing cookies for a selected site. Use the same Chrome help page linked above.

If the issue continues, create a fresh browser profile and repeat the same test from the same computer and connection. Shopify also recommends trying an updated browser, clearing cache and cookies, checking cookie settings, and testing another connection when diagnosing local login problems. 05

Shared credentials versus controlled team access

Should several operators share one owner login?

Use separate user accounts wherever User Management supports the required role. Do not make the shop owner’s credentials the team’s default operating login.

Shared credentials create several hidden costs:

  • The audit trail cannot reliably identify the operator.
  • Two people can invalidate each other’s session or verification flow.
  • A departing contractor may retain access.
  • Sensitive actions become harder to review.
  • A new device alert cannot be tied to one person.
  • Password changes interrupt every operator at once.

TikTok Shop documents a User Management workflow for adding sub-accounts, assigning default or custom roles, and limiting access by operating country where applicable. The owner account is responsible for assigning or customizing roles. (TikTok Shop User Management documentation)

Use this division:

  • Owner: identity, payment, security, and final recovery actions.
  • Operations staff: products, orders, customer service, and routine tasks.
  • Agency or contractor: only the functions required by the contract.
  • Former staff: disable access during the handover, not after a later incident.

TikTok Shop’s current guide states that a newly added user must activate the account within 120 hours before accessing Seller Center. Record the invitation date, activation status, assigned role, and removal date in the team handover log. Use the User Management documentation linked above for the current menu path and role conditions.

For a broader operating model, see our cross-border team Mac permission isolation guide and map each Seller Center role to one named operator.

06

Account restrictions need a different recovery path

Login failure or account security restriction?

Separate these three cases:

You cannot log in at all

Check credentials, verification ownership, device history, and the associated email account. If the owner no longer controls the email or phone, use official support rather than asking a contractor to improvise a recovery path.

You can log in, but a feature is unavailable

This may be a compliance, identity, withdrawal, product, or role restriction. It is not automatically a browser fault. Capture the exact banner, affected menu, and account role before changing anything.

You see signs of account takeover

Signs include an unfamiliar device, changed contact details, altered payment information, or actions no team member recognizes. Secure the email first, reset passwords, remove unknown access, and contact official support. TikTok Shop states that additional ownership verification materials may be requested after an account is frozen. Refer to the official security guidance above for the current recovery route.

Do not invent a recovery deadline or promise that an appeal will succeed. The required documents and review outcome depend on the current account notice and platform process.

07

A controlled overseas Mac environment: what to accept

A fixed overseas Mac environment can help when the team keeps changing computers, browser profiles, and remote handoff methods. Its value is operational consistency:

  • One assigned system user per workflow.
  • A documented browser profile.
  • A known remote connection method.
  • A recorded node location.
  • Clear access ownership.
  • Repeatable logs for login attempts and handovers.

It is not a way to avoid verification, disguise ownership, or guarantee that a seller account will not be restricted.

Before adopting one, check the delivery details. Our overseas Mac environment acceptance checklist can be used to verify the assigned machine, remote access method, system user, and responsible operator. If your team needs another regional setup, compare the available regional options against your staffing and handoff process before choosing a plan.

For each delivered environment, record:

  • Assigned operator and backup operator.
  • System user name.
  • Remote connection method.
  • Browser profile owner.
  • Cookie and extension baseline.
  • Node region as provided by the service.
  • Date and person completing acceptance.
  • Seller Center login result.
  • Any verification prompt shown.
  • Access removal procedure.

If you cannot obtain those records, the environment is not ready for shared operations.

08

The login-before-action checklist

Use this checklist before changing a network or requesting another code:

  • [ ] Confirm the Seller Center account and shop are the intended ones.
  • [ ] Confirm the owner controls the login email and phone.
  • [ ] Confirm two-step verification is enabled and usable.
  • [ ] Check the exact verification failure: missing, rejected, or looping.
  • [ ] Record the device, browser, location, and time of the attempt.
  • [ ] Review and remove unfamiliar devices.
  • [ ] Use one browser profile with nonessential extensions disabled.
  • [ ] Check cookie settings without disabling all privacy controls.
  • [ ] Clear only relevant site data before a second browser test.
  • [ ] Keep the same device and connection during the controlled retry.
  • [ ] Check whether the operator has the required Seller Center role.
  • [ ] Stop if payment, identity, or account ownership details changed.
  • [ ] Save screenshots with email addresses, phone numbers, and codes hidden.
  • [ ] Escalate to official support when the issue is account-level.

The stop condition matters. If the same account fails on the known-good device, clean browser profile, and verified owner method, stop treating the issue as a simple network fault.

09

Current setup versus a fixed Mac workflow

A shared office computer or rotating personal laptop is cheap to start, but it has real operating weaknesses: changing browser profiles, mixed cookies, unclear access history, and difficult handovers. A basic remote desktop or improvised cloud workstation can add another layer of session loss, unknown permissions, and inconsistent browser state.

After the account and platform checks are complete, a fixed Mac environment may be the cleaner choice for a team that needs repeatable access. Renting a Mac from MESHLAUNCH can provide a separately assigned macOS workspace with controlled remote access, but it still does not replace valid credentials, two-step verification, platform eligibility, or official appeal procedures.

If the team needs temporary capacity for a new operator, an agency handover, or a controlled troubleshooting environment, confirm the node, user access, connection method, and handover records before putting the workflow into production.
